Top Cars to Check Out Right Now

With more than 400 new SUVs, cars, vans, and trucks to choose from, shopping for a new ride might seem like an overwhelming task. But, we’re here to help! Here are some of the top-rated cars of the year:

Hyundai Kona

  • Gutsy optional turbo engine
  • Lots of standard features
  • Cheeky design

The Hyundai Kona still continues to turn heads, thanks to its bold styling. This automobile offers a gutsy optional turbocharged four-cylinder engine and crisp handling, which makes it more than just a stylish SUV.

If you can not afford to upgrade to the 175-hp turbo powertrain, the base model with a non-turbo is slower but still fun to drive. The Kona’s cabin is comfortable for four adults and is nicely trimmed. But the cargo space and rear-seat headroom aren’t as generous as that of its slightly larger rivals. Even with its practical downfalls, this SUV is one of the best driving and best-looking small SUVs available on the market today.

Kia Soul

  • Generous interior accommodations
  • Distinct appearance
  • Great personality for the price

The Kia soul adds the “fun” in function and funky with its remarkably roomy cabin and distinctly boxy design. While this subcompact SUV has corporate competition from the Hyundai Kona and the new Kia Seltos, the Soul is considerably cheaper.

Kia allows car buyers to choose between two gas-powered four-cylinders, one of which is a 201-hp turbocharged powerful engine. You can also wait for its upcoming model.

Even though Kia markets the Soul as an SUV, its limited ground clearance and lack of all-wheel drive make it similar to a large hatchback.

Mazda CX-30

  • Lots of standard tech goodies
  • Near-luxury interior trimmings
  • Eager driving dynamics

Even though the Mazda CX-30 is similar in size to the CX-3 SUV, it’s a hugely desirable and more modern offering. It borrows its powertrain, styling, and interior design from the Mazda 3 sedan and hatchback and features a slightly lifted suspension that gives it the feel of an SUV from behind the wheel.

A 2.5-liter four-cylinder gives this Mazda enough power and can either be a front- or all-wheel drive. It also offers a far more powerful turbocharged 2.5 liter as an option, and it comes standard with all-wheel drive. Mazda also offers a great range of standard driver-assistance features.
